Caleb's First Camping Trip!

We went camping in the Sierras for Labor Day weekend. It was a super fun time.
Caleb was the happiest little camper.

If you think his bear cub hat is cute in this pictures,
you have to see him in person. It's beyond cute.

this is only a fraction of what jordan caught

The Sierras are so pretty.
Rock Creek has the most amazing pie I've ever put in my mouth.
Ever.
My mouth is watering just thinking about it.

Oh and I realized at the end of our trip that my camera settings were messed up.
That's why they are so grainy.

20 pounds of Chub

I took Caleb to get a shot today and weighed him while we were there. He is now 20 pounds and 1 ounce. The last time he was weighed was a little over a month ago and he was 18 pounds 7 ounces. HUGE. :)

Caleb is almost 5 1/2 months old and he's changing and growing so much every day.

  • He is wanting to crawl. He is rolling over with much more ease now and is starting to move his way across the floor.. not really crawling, but he definitely wants to be able to do it.

  • He discovered how to suck on his fingers. He usually sucks on his pointer and middle finger, but occasionally will suck on his thump or his middle and ring fingers.

  • He started to actually jump in his jumper.

  • He smiles and laughs ALL the time and at the most random things. He started having a different laugh sometimes too.. it's when he can't stop laughing. Usually his laugh is really low, but this laugh is a little more high pitch.

  • He knows his name and will respond to it.

  • He's started to look interested whenever I'm eating or drinking something. We will start him on foods at 6 months.
  • He LOVES his daddy. He recognized Jordan pretty early on, but now, whenever he hears Jordan's voice he looks around and smiles when he sees Jordan. It's really sweet.
  • He has big boy hair! His hair texture changed.
I can't think of anything else new. Caleb is the sweetest baby in the world and I could not be happier to have him in my life. He is the most wonderful and precious part of my life and I can't imagine loving him more, yet I do every single day.

Here is a picture of Caleb today after we got home from the doctor.

Caleb's 1st PBR

Caleb went to his first PBR on Sunday. PBR= Professional Bull Riding. Here are some pictures!

Caleb isn't allowed to watch tv yet.. but the PBR is basically a giant tv screen. He was glued to it haha.

taking a little snooze

I couldn't fit his feet in his cowboy boots, just one of the things that happens when you're chubby haha.. so I busted out his cowboy boot socks instead :)

Tom Cruise was there. It's hard to see him but if you look close you can see him under the 4. Just thought I'd take the opportunity to get Caleb's first picture with a celebrity haha.

I think he was researching for a role for a bull riding movie or something. I don't know for sure, it just seemed like it.

Caleb "standing" in his crib. When I put him up to stand like that he got a huge smile on his face and looked so proud of himself! We moved his crib in our room by the way. We just aren't ready for him to be in his big boy room yet. :)

Texas. Family. Friends. Engagements.

Caleb and I went to Texas for a visit this month. It was a really fun time! The only not fun parts were getting my iphone stolen at the airport and southwest sending our car seat base to San Diego on accident. Jordan had to go to the store to get an extra base since they wouldn't be able to get us the base until the next day. We needed an extra one anyways. I always forget to take the base out of Jordan's car and then I'll end up stranded at home some days. I still haven't replaced my phone though. So if you've tried contacting me, I promise I'm not rude :)

While we were there, my best friend, Blair and her boyfriend, Aaron, got engaged! They got engaged at Mt. Bonnell. Aaron had asked me to be there to get pictures. It was really special. They are so perfect for each other. I am so happy for them!!!

I was also able to spend a few days with my other best friend, Lydia. She is moving to Boston in a little over a week, so I was really thankful to get some time with her before she moves. We also visited my family in Houston and I got to meet my new nephew, Matthew! He is so precious and tiny!

Here are some pictures of our trip.

Caleb's First Time Swinging/Beach Weekend

We spent our weekend at the beach, like usual. Saturday we met Meghan and Everett and their boys down in Newport and attempted to go to Huntington Beach so that the guys could surf. We didn't realize it was the US Open this weekend so we had to park a few miles away in a neighborhood and we ended up not making it to the beach because as we got closer we started to see that it was going to be more like a spring break type of thing. We had two babies and a 3 year old, so we figured that probably wouldn't be the best idea in the world. So we stopped at a park and that was about it. Jordan was pretty disappointed that he didn't get to surf so we left our house real early Sunday morning and spent the day at San Onofre (where we usually go) and it was a really fun day.

Here are some pictures of Caleb swinging for the first time.

And here is a video of Caleb swinging.

This is Jordan with his surf board. It's his old longboard. He spent the past week repairing it and then he painted the rising sun on it. I felt so bad for him because he took it out for about 30 minutes or so and then when he came back in he was putting it under his truck so the wax wouldn't melt and he dropped it and it cracked. He worked so hard on it and was so frustrated. So sad. We made friends with some people near us and they let him use one of theirs and then someone else let him use their duct tape so he could still use his. So it turned out to be a really fun day.
